FUNDAMENTALS OF USE OF INTERNET PAGES

FUNDAMENTALS OF USE OF INTERNET PAGES

(hereafter the "Fundamentals“)

These fundamentals issued by the company BOND Mobility Czech s.r.o., business ID No 28198921, having its registered office at the address Prague 1, Elišky Krásnohorské 134/9 (hereafter the "Company"), apply to the users - natural persons who pass through or read the internet page https://www.europcar.cz (hereafter the "Internet Page") or enter their data on it or who provide their data to the Company via the pages of third parties. Amongst other things, these Fundamentals are intended to inform the user of the Internet Page duly about the use of cookies and about the possibility of forbidding the use of cookies.

These fundamentals also describe how data of the Internet Page's users is gathered, compiled, processed and used, and how the Company uses cookie files to gain and process information about the Internet Page's users.

For the purposes of these Fundamentals the term cookies means cookie files and other similar technology (such as pixel tags, beacons or device identifiers) which can automatically gather data when Internet Pages are visited. The information gathered in this way can contain the IP address, type of browser, operating system, referrer URL, information about activities on web pages, dates and times of visits to web pages.

I.  What cookies are

Cookies are small text files containing brief data which can be installed on a user's device when they visit any web page.

Cookie files in particular:

(i)         serve for effective navigation on a website, for personalisation, saving presets and in general to improve the user impression of the website;

(ii)        they make it possible to distinguish whether the user had in the past visited the internet pages or whether he is a new visitor;

(iii)      they aid in the display of advertising configured to the interests of a concrete user on the web site.

II. Purpose of using cookies

In the context of the Internet Pages, the Company uses cookies for these purposes:

(i)         maintaining user sessions; these cookies are essential for ensuring that when displaying Internet Pages the Company can distinguish between the individual users and thus display information relevant only for these users;

(ii)        the basic configuration of Internet Pages for non-logged in users influencing the display of web pages according to the user's choice (when, for example, the user forbids the display of a certain graphic element, these cookies make it possible to respect such a user choice) or taking into account the frequency or order of viewing of pages (for example, during first visit;

(iii)      marketing activity, such as distinguishing users who had visited the Internet Page, where they started to fill in an internet form but did not complete its filling in and sending for some reason, with the aim of the subsequent contacting of such users.

III.  Duration of saving of cookies

Cookies can be saved on a computer or other user end device for varying periods. Some cookies are limited to the duration of the session (so-called "session" cookies"). This means that they exist only as long as the browser is running, and they are automatically deleted after it is closed. Other cookies are permanent (so-called "persistent cookies"). These cookie files remain in the browser even after it is terminated for a designated period or until they are manually deleted by the user. It is possible to identify the computer or other user end device according to these cookies when the browser is launched again and the internet is browsed.

IV. Types of cookies used on the Internet Pages

These Internet Pages store three categories of cookie files:

(i)         cookie files required for the activity of the Internet Pages and ensuring the functions essential for the use of the Internet Pages. The consent of the user is not necessary for the use of these essential cookie files;

(ii)        cookies which are not absolutely essential for the operation of the Internet Pages but the use of which improves the user impression, make it easier to view the Internet Pages and also improve the performance of the Internet Pages.

(iii)      analytical cookies, which gather information for an understanding of the way that individual users use the Internet Pages.

The saving of cookies according to point (ii) and (iii) of the previous paragraph can be forbidden in the browser setting (and it is also possible to forbid the use of any third-party cookies using the links in the list pursuant to point V.). If the user does so, some functions of the Internet Pages may be unavailable or they will not necessarily work as expected.

V. Third-party cookies

The Internet Pages may also include third-party cookies which allow the Company to gain anonymous statistics about visitor figures and the typical behaviour of users on the individual pages.

VI. Browser settings

Most web browsers accept cookie files in the default setting. But the user may change the setting of their browser and refuse and delete cookies. The specific procedure differs in the individual browsers. You can find more information in the help section of your browser. For the most widespread browsers these are:

(i)         MS Internet Explorer / Edge: windows.microsoft.com;

(ii)        Chrome: support.google.com;

(iii)      Firefox: support.mozilla.org;

(iv)      Opera: help.opera.com.

The refusal or deletion of cookie files may lead to the incorrect functioning of the Internet Pages or some of their services and may have an adverse effect on your user impression. Areas of the Internet Pages which could use the content and associated cookie files of third parties will not be available.

VII. Processing of personal data gained via the Internet Pages and its subsequent use

The company declares that from the position of personal data controller it processes all the personal data, including personal data gained through the use of cookies, in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679, on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data, and associated legal regulations for personal data protection and saving of cookie files.
